Ada Vox is an American drag performer and one of the contestants of Queen of the Universe. A San Antonio-based drag queen, became a semi-finalist on ABC's “American Idol,” marking a significant milestone for the show. Her performance of “House of the Rising Sun” is considered one of the standout auditions. In 2013, Ada auditioned for Fox's “American Idol” as Adam Sanders, receiving a standing ovation from three judges for her rendition of “I’d Rather Go Blind.” However, she was eliminated after Hollywood week and faced bullying on social media. When the show returned to ABC, Ada auditioned again as Ada Vox, showcasing greater confidence and improvement as a performer. She stated that she is a significantly better singer and entertainer now. Ada made history as the first-ever drag queen to reach the Top 8 on “American Idol.” After her departure, judge Lionel Richie acknowledged her impact on the show. She has released her first single, “Because of You,” written by Janice Robinson and produced by Bimbo Jones, and is excited to share it with new audiences during her tours.
